The Percussion Workshop DP921 bass drum pedal really is superb value for money.
It is a solid and sturdy kick drum pedal that will withhold a lot of punishment, making it ideal for schools.
It is a single pedal that will attach to any acoustic bass drum hoop and most electric drum kits.
A great feature that is becoming more and more popular with drummers is the adjustable throw, which allows you to adjust the angle of the footplate. This makes the pedal have a lighter or heavier feel for added control or power.
The beater head is reversible so you can switch between two beater heads. A felt head, which has a softer and warmer tone you would associate with jazz or pop. Alternatively you can switch to the hard plastic head which has a cutting attack, best suited for punk, rock or metal.
The base plate is solid metal which not only adds to the durability, but keeps the pedal grounded. Resulting in less energy being lost from your leg to the drum for a better feel. The base also incorporates two strips of velcro to stop the pedal from sliding, and a drum key holder so you will never be without one!
Al our resident drum expert says:
'As a drummer of 15 years I have tried many pedals and the DP921 from Percussion Workshop really is great! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this pedal. It is incredibly sturdy and responsive and the fact all of the adjustments can be made with the provided drum key is great, it really takes the hassle out of setting it up or making minor adjustments.
There are many pedals out there and I can honestly say that this pedal feels far more like a pedal in the region of £100 plus, than a sub £50.00!!'
