The doumbek, also know as a darabuka or goblet drum, originates from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. The drum is constructed from a goblet shaped body with a single playing head, originating from temple music. The instrument used different and much lighter strokes then other similar looking instruments, such as the djembe, and produces a resonant sound.
This brass embossed doumbek drum has a natural skin head and comes complete with a carry bag.
