Nuvos flagship instrument, the Clarineo, is an innovative way of taking your first steps into the world of clarinet playing. An all-plastic design makes it both lightweight and durable, while retaining an elegant tone not dissimilar to its ABS Resin counterparts.
The Clarineo is made from lightweight polymer resin which makes it easy to handle, extremely durable and 100% waterproof. Assembled from just 3 parts, it is quick and easy to set up and put away at the beginning and end of lessons. The bell has a simple bayonet fitting while the mouthpiece has o-ring seals, thus bypassing any problems of fitting associated with traditional corks.
This instrument can be played by any age of player, but is particularly well suited for ages 7-12 due to its light weight and simple features. Due to its reduced size, finger stretches are shorter and the tone holes smaller, making it perfect for smaller fingers. And when the student is ready, the transition to Bb clarinet is quick and easy.
The Clarineo is a great instrument for instrumental teaching lessons or music groups. Firstly, unlike classical clarinets which are pitched in Bb, the Clarineo is pitched in C, which makes it much easier to play along with other woodwind instruments such as the flute, oboe, and playing along with the piano. Secondly, its plastic construction makes it easy to clean and sanitised if more than one student is playing. This makes it particularly useful for primary school general music programs.
The mouthpiece and ligature design is simple and effective in comparison to the traditional method. Featuring a snap shut ligature, there are no screws to adjust and this allows for quick repositioning if necessary.
Supplied in a stylish semi-hard moulded case with fingering chart, mouthpiece cap, pull-through and o-ring grease, two Nuvo plastic mouthpieces and one traditional cane reed are also provided, both easily fitting into the mouthpiece. Although both are equally effective, the synthetic reed lasts much longer than a cane reed, does not need to be wet to play, resists damage - and does not grow mould! The synthetic reed also has a location rib which engages with the mouthpiece table to ensure correct positioning.
Little to no maintenance is required with a Clarineo, due to its durable silicone rubber pads and springs which are integral with the keys. The range is fully chromatic over three and a half octaves so is suitable for any music from jazz to Mozart. Finally, the thumb rest is fully adjustable so that it can be placed in the ideal position to suit the student.
Available in a range of eye-catching colours including white with green, pink and blue trim, or the more traditional black with silver trim, this instrument is ideal for the aspiring young beginner.
