Introducing the Percussion Plus Rainstick
This is a professional quality rainstick from Percussion Plus and would be ideal for use in classrooms or music therapy sessions as well as bands, orchestras and more. It is made from a durable red plastic tube with distinctive yellow ends, filled with hundreds of beads to create the effect of rainfall.
How to play
To play, simply invert the rainstick and allow the beads to cascade through the tube. By varying the angle, you can control the intensity of the downpour: a shallow angle for just a light shower and vertical for a torrential downpour!
Origins of the rainstick
Thought to be created by the Mapuche people of southern Chile and Argentina, rainsticks were played in the belief they could bring about rainstorms. Now, the soothing sound can be utilised in sensory classes, music therapy, schools or for texture in performances and compositions.
