Of the numerous chamber music works by Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805), the minuet from the string quintet op. 3/5 is undoubtedly the best known - the efforts of the gangster quintet from the film "Ladykillers" for this work certainly contributed to this. In his variations for four flutes on this minuet, Manfred Hilger stays close to the original and involves all voices equally in the musical events: "Musical fun for flautists!"
