Baritone saxophones

(8)
The saxophone is a member of the woodwind family of instruments. Although they are usually made of brass they are classed as wind instruments as they are played using a single reed mouthpiece similar to that of a clarinet. Saxophones were developed to provide an instrument with the volume and projection of a brass instrument as well as the agility of a woodwind instrument. The baritone saxophone is pitched in EG֡, one octave lower than the alto, and one octave higher than the contrabass.
