The Sundance Performance Pro X70TE model is a comfortable, classic orchestra bodied guitar. The guitars traditional hourglass figure strikes an optimum balance between comfort and ease of playing. A remarkable guitar for the professional player, it features a hand selected premium AAA grade solid spruce top, coupled with genuine solid mahogany back and sides.



Designed in collaboration with highly-acclaimed Scandinavian luthier Michael Sanden, the X47E features traditional quarter sawn spruce bracing in a tapered style, using a combination of X bracing and fan bracing. This construction regains an outstanding flexibility and tonality from the AAA grade solid mahogany, creating a much more stable top than standard bracing.
Besides serving to form the enclosure of the sound box, the back and sides of the guitar also act as a sympathetic resonator whose oscillations contribute greatly to the harmonic mix. The guitar body is finished in an ultra-thin, violin sunburst, polyurethane satin finish, which gives it a polished, timeless appearance and feel.

Mahogany was chosen for this model by Michael Sanden as mahogany has a strong energetic tone that is often heard in country blues playing. As a result, mahogany is a popular choice with folk and finger style players, and provides a characteristically warm tone that contributes to a fuller, richer sound. It is a dense wood, with a dark finish and close grain. The mahogany’s density can add great projection and definition, and gives the guitar a distinctly ‘woody’ character.

The mahogany necks are constructed with a traditional dove tail join. Mahogany is used as it provides a good longitudinal strength. They are C-shaped in a smooth comfortable oval profile that works well for almost all playing styles. The neck is completed with the inclusion of high quality chrome Grover machine heads, which support the expressive Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 12-53 Light E16052 Acoustic strings that come fitted as standard.

The Fishman Presys+ provides the thrust of the X47E’s electronic power. The Presys+ onboard preamp system is designed to offer maximum control, power and quality in a small, inconspicuous format. The compact sophisticated Presys+ system features Volume, Bass, Mid and Treble controls, a Phase switch, and a built-in tuner with LED display.
