Practice pads such as the Percussion Workshop TD101 are an absolute essential for any level of player.
This particular pad has an 8" foam pad, covered with a single ply Mylar drum head, making for a more realistic feel. You can adjust the tension of the head by tightening the screws around the outside of the pad for your own custom feel.
What sets this apart from other pads is that there is a bolt located on the underside of the pad that will screw onto almost any cymbal stand. Thus allowing you to adjust the height and angle of the pad to emulate the positioning of your snare drum.
They really are a great way to warm up your arms before a gig or recoding session, much like stretching before a run, as well as helping younger drummers build up technique, power and stamina.
