Combining a USB interface with compact monitoring, the Akai RPM3 reference production monitor speakers have the ability to simultaneously record audio to, and play audio from a computer through a provided USB cable.
Supported across all the major platforms - Windows, Mac, and Linux - the Akai RPM3 can directly record professional quality audio from a keyboard, mixer, guitar effects processor, microphone pre-amplifier or other audio device. And as they are designed for use with a computer, the speakers are magnetically shielded to cancel out interference when used near monitors or other magnetic media.
It is hard to imagine a monitor being easier to use. You simply have to plug in the power cord, plug the provided USB cable into your computer, a guitar and microphone onto the monitor’s back panel and you are able to produce great quality audio.
Each Akai RPM 3studio monitor cabinet comes equipped with one magnetically shielded 3 inch woofer, each of which comes with a bass boost feature that slightly raises bass frequencies. The lowest range of response is 70 Hz, and each of these studio project monitors have a single one inch silk dome tweeter.
The Akai RPM3 project monitor has a significant advantage over its competitors when it comes to power thanks to the old-school 10 watts per channel output. And to accommodate the need to directly record audio into a PC as well as other devices, the Akai RPM 3 has a number of connectors including RCA inputs, a pair of balanced TRS inputs and two USB ports.
The 2X2 USB interface allows you to simultaneously monitor computer audio while recording audio into your PC. For ease of adjustment and accessibility the power switch, volume control headphone jack are all located on the front panel of the primary cabinet.
The Akai RPM 3 is a lightweight, portable studio monitor ideal for mobile recording rigs, project studios, and desks. This makes it the perfect product for those who make music from the laptop with no fixed studio. It gives you the ability to use the speakers in different places and move them around at will.
