The Hiscox range of cello cases are well regarded for their durability and overall value. This model is no exception. This one is finished in ivory coloured, textured ABS plastic and as such is up to 15% cooler inside during hot weather when compared to the black models which is, of course, good news for your instrument.
The case is constructed using the unique 'Lifelite' construction method. A very strong, molded outer layer is wedded to an internal molded layer made of cellular foam. This second layer provides excellent impact protection by absorbing the force of any knock rather than letting it damage the instrument. It also makes the case very lightweight, in-fact with the exception of carbon-fiber cases, (which are about 3 times as expensive) this offers unparalleled protection when you consider the overall weight.
Internally the cello nestles into a padded, crushed velour interior which ensures that it does not move around whilst in transit. The interior benefits from 2 bow holders and an accessory pocket, the latter being perfect for rosin and strings.
The two halves of the cello case come together and are held in place by 8 bracket clips, each one is riveted to the case and the clips provide a very secure closing mechanism.
On the bottom of the cello case there are 4 individual rubber stoppers which ensure that the instrument can stand securely upright.
The case comes complete with back pack style padded straps and a one year manufacturers warranty.
