Pocket trumpets are a popular second instrument for trumpeters. They make the ideal traveling, practice and touring instrument as their diminutive stature simply makes them much easier to carry.
Despite its miniature size, the pocket trumpet plays in the same key as the standard instrument; it covers the same range and plays with the same mouthpiece - so no change of embouchure is required either. In fact, if you stretched out the tubing of a pocket trumpet you would find that the tubes are the same length as the full size version!
Despite the squashed appearance of the tubing, the JTR-710 remains remarkably free blowing. It also benefits from a full size bell which gives it the sort of sound projection associated with the larger instrument. It also has a 3rd valve slide loop, which makes holding the instrument a much easier, less cramped experience than initially expected.
This outfit is complete with as Jupiter 7C mouthpiece, valve oil, cleaning materials and a classic wood frame hard case. Overall, this is a carefully constructed, well-engineered, and free blowing trumpet with a quick response and consistently good sound.
