Introducing Yamaha FG800II 4/4 dreadnought acoustic guitar in gloss

Yamaha’s standard acoustic model, this guitar features a simple, traditional look with outstanding quality, all at an affordable price. A solid-top guitar with authentic sound that is well balanced without sacrificing its robust strength, thanks to the newly developed scalloped bracing design, this guitar is a perfect beginner model. The FG800 is a particularly popular guitar in the series, especially for beginners or the progressing player. These are great looking and sounding guitars and the FG800 series have a smaller body making it easier for beginners to pick up.

Scalloped Bracing

Yamaha’s engineers have utilised analysis and simulation to arrive at the best bracing design without depending on tradition or guesswork. This analysis led to the development of the new scalloped bracing pattern, a new and ideal acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound the Yamaha FG has to offer.

Expertly crafted

Crafted with a solid spruce top, this instrument produces a bold and resonant tone with sustained brilliance. The body, constructed from Nato, not only enhances its visual appeal but also contributes to an exceptional tonal output. The fretboard, skillfully crafted from rosewood, adds a touch of warmth to the sound, smoothing over any harsh frequencies. The result is a guitar that delivers a rich, clear tone, making it a perfect complement to any musical style.

The Yamaha FG series

When it was introduced in 1966, the Yamaha FG proved that a great acoustic guitar didn’t need to cost a fortune. With a focus on great playability, musical tone and outstanding build quality, the original FG180 quickly became a classic with countless careers and hit records starting life on an FG. 50 years since the introduction of the FG acoustics, the new range features the best-ever FG tone and the same great playability and class-leading quality that’s made it the choice of millions of guitarists.

  • Yamaha FG800MII – our most affordable model
  • Yamaha FG800II – like the previous model, but with a gloss finish instead of matte
  • Yamaha FGX800CII – an electro-acoustic alternative to the FG800, with a cutaway body
  • Yamaha FG820II – a step up from the FG800, with mahogany back and sides instead of nato
  • Yamaha FG82012 – 12 string version of the FG820
  • Yamaha FG830 – a step above the FG820, fantastic all-round acoustic guitar
  • Yamaha FGX830C – electro-acoustic version of the FG830
  • Yamaha FG-TA – a TransAcoustic guitar; amazing sounding reverb/chorus built in with no need for external amplification or effects
