This is a student instrument that is in our opinion, the best overall value for money of all the beginner level Cellos we have to offer. It is supplied as an outfit and as such includes case, bow and rosin.
The Cello itself is made from laminate tone woods which produce a nice well rounded sound. It has been fitted with hardwood pegs and fingerboard and integral fine tuners on the tailpiece that make tuning the instrument easier.
The brazilwood bow is good quality and is fitted with natural horse hair. It has a hardwood frog and is easy to tighten and slacken when needed. It has a solid grip and a good camber which critical as to how the bow will sound.
The case is a moulded hardcase that has a nice plush-lined black interior, 2 internal bow holders, external sheet music pocket and a compartment to store a spike holder, rosin, mutes or other accessories. It boasts a strong carry handle, backpack style shoulder straps and also wheels for ease of transport.
The vast majority of student models such as Stentor and Antoni are supplied with a soft padded gig bag. These are all well and good but in time a lot of players who travel with their instruments will then go on to buy a hardcase. Fortunately this particular model is supplied with this from the get go.
Every Cello is set-up by our experienced in-house luthiers
Our technicians will check each individual instrument over and check that key elements such as the sound post is straight and that the nut is shaped well to make it easier for both small and big hands to play. The fingerboard is shaped and then the bridge is shaved to adjust the action of the strings and to ensure each string can easily be bowed and finally that it stands flush against the table.
