The student series of MMX instruments offer unrivaled value for money. Each instrument is expertly hand crafted by the luthiers in the Gua Fang Wang workshop in Beijing with superb attention to detail. The violins are made from select spruce, maple and ebony to ensure the best possible tone. The last stage in the manufacure of these instruments is hand applying an oil based varnish, unlike other violins at this price point which are usually finished with a plastic type lacquer, the oil varnish gives a very desireable antique finish to the instruments and instead of encasing the wood, work with it to further enhance the beautiful tone of this superb instrument.
The final stage of preperation for all of our MMX instruments happens here in our workshop where our luthier sets up the violin. The soundpost is set to the correct position, the bridge carved so that it fits the top of the violin perfectly, the strings set at the correct height to allow the best possible playing experience, and the pegs worked in to allow maximum tuning stability and ease of tuning. On top of all of this we also fit the violins with a set D'addario prelude strings as we think that an instrument of this quality deserves better than the cheap strings that competing violins in this price range usually come with!
The violin comes complete as an outfit and as well as being supplied fully set up, it includes a professional quality MMX carbon bow, Tom & Will hard case and rosin.
