It is the
Buffet E13 clarinet model which bridges the gap between the enthusiastic and progressing student and the degree level player. It features a number of advanced design features and has in itself been a model that has continually been developed over the last 40 or so years. It is consequently well regarded within the teaching community and is a popular upgrade from either the
Buffet B12 student model or the
Yamaha YCL450 clarinet.
Firstly and most importantly the Buffet E13 is made from extremely high quality African hard wood. It is this which creates the rich and resonant tone. The wood is also seasoned and lacquered to ensure longevity.
The instrument has silver plated keyword with blue steel springs which ensures that the action is tight, efficient and reliable and the key surface is smooth and has a faultless ergonomic design.
The instrument also benefits from undercut tone holes which helps the air flow through the instrument with less resistance, it also assists the overall intonation.
The E13 is a wonderful clarinet model and is a lovely upgrade from any student model instrument. If you happen to have an E11 or E12 Buffet clarinet you may consider it better to opt for the more expensive
Buffet R13 Bb clarinet model which offers a dramatically different playing experience and is considered a much better upgrade option at this level.
Don't let this detract from the model itself though - is a lovely instrument and one we have sold successfully for many years.
This model comes complete with a hard case, if you would prefer a rucksack style case click

Buffet Crampon says.....
Each school of music has its own instrumental character. The German school favours a full and focused woody sound, while the French school of wind instruments cultivates vigour and fluidity, and beauty in the model.
Buffet Crampon has contributed in a material way to the creation of the modern clarinet and the founding of high-quality interpretation.
It has also played a preponderant role in developing teaching methods, accompanying an illustrious line of teachers that have graduated from the best music conservatories in the world.
The E13 clarinets were developed for most students who are preparing for a career as a professional musician and whose technical level has exceeded the quality of their first instrument.
Made entirely in grenadilla wood, these clarinets give these musicians their first sensations as a soloist.
