These octopus ukuleles are excellent value for money. With their quality pine bodies, mahogany necks, rosewood fingerboards and smart metallic finishes, they're a superb beginners' instrument for people of all ages.
They have proved to be particularly popular with schools; the kids find them easy to tune and they love the bright colours.
Ukuleles provide a great introduction to chord structures, intervals and general having fun making music!
Octopus ukuleles are fitted with Aquila Nylgut strings, widely considered the ukulele world's best strings for intonation and tone.
Soprano ukuleles use re-entrant tuning, where the strings are not ordered from lowest to highest pitch.

Phil our guitar and percussion instrument specialist says;
Upon picking this uke up, I notice that it feels solid, well made and is a good weight.
There are a few minor imperfections in the finish, however nothing too serious and as expected from a student uke in this price range. Perhaps the imperfections would be less noticeable on the black or coloured finish version.
The ukulele was out of tune when I pulled it out of the box, so gave the strings a stretch and tuned the instrument. The machine tuners seem smooth and didn’t slip. I did have to retune a few times before the stings stabilised, however this is generally to be expected with most ukuleles, even with the pre loaded Aquila strings. This is always going to be the case with nylon type strings.
Upon playing the UK200, I found it to have a good tone. This is quite bright, but without the tinny overtones you get with some budget ukes and has good projection too. The fingerboard seems well finished and smooth.
The included bag seems of good quality and has a nice design printed on the front, however it is more of a cover than a case. I would advise buying a thickly padded gig bag or case if the ukulele is to be doing a lot of travelling. But the included bag feels fine for short journeys
All in all, I would say that the UK200 is a strong contender in its price range and would be ideal for anyone thinking about taking up the ukulele, as well as intermediate players.
